Chatter Chat

Being Neighbourly runs Chatter Chat, a friendly and welcoming coffee morning for our “young at heart” neighbours in and around East Grinstead, creating a space for friendship, connection, and conversation.

Created to help people reconnect with their community, Chatter Chat is all about building friendships, boosting confidence, and, most importantly, having fun.

Led and supported by our wonderful volunteers, the group offers a warm and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.

Wherever possible, volunteers can collect attendees and accompany them to sessions, helping to build familiar connections and ensure people feel comfortable from the moment they step out of their door.

The aim is not just to bring people together in one place, but to gently support them in becoming more confident and engaged within their wider community.

Our relaxed coffee mornings take place across three welcoming local venues—Dunnings Mill, Chequer Mead, and Trinity Café—all of whom generously support the group and provide a friendly setting at a reduced cost for our neighbours.

Each session offers the chance to enjoy a cuppa, share conversation, and develop meaningful friendships.

In addition to regular meet-ups, we also organise outings approximately three times a year, such as trips to garden centres with lunch included.

These are always well supported, much enjoyed, and a great opportunity to socialise in a different setting.

Chatter Chat is a very popular and much-loved group. If you’re interested in joining us, please call 01342 545044—we’d be delighted to welcome you along for a cuppa and a chat.
